On 26 November 2022 Klubrádió broadcasted on the international conference "The Future of Democracy and the Summit for Democracy from the Perspective of a Hungarian NGO", organised by the Hungarian Europe Society.
István Hegedűs was quoted in the German Tageszeitung on 19 September 2022 about the recent lawmaking process by the Hungarian government, which is supposed to meet the rule of law conditions requested by the European Commission.
István Hegedűs gave a presentation entitled "The Future of Authoritarian Populism in Hungary and Beyond after the Hungarian Elections and the Russian Attack against Ukraine" at the conference of the Central European Political Association entitled “Democracy after coronavirus: facing new political reality” at the Congress Centre in Bled on 2 June 2022.
The analysis by István Hegedűs entitled "The Hungarian elections: What is the current situation and what can we expect?" was published as a European Policy Institutes Network (EPIN) publication on 1 April 2022.
István Hegedűs was quoted in Foreign Policy on 31 March 2022 on the Hungarian elections saying among others that "Marki-Zay is a good speaker, but he did make some mistakes, and I think there is a lack of a strong team and expertise behind him".
István Hegedűs participated at the online discussion about the Hungarian parliamentary elections together with Ádám Kerpel-Fronius, a leader of Momentum Germany and Daniel Freund, Member of the European Parliament to the invitation of the international working groups of the Greens in Brandenburg on 29 March 2022.
